MOMENTUM BUILDING AS SPRING APPROACHES
LOOKING AHEAD

Over the course of the recovering housing market, the inventory of unsold homes has been gradually reduced.  By February 2017, the months of statewide inventory was down to 4.2 months (less than 3 months in PG and Montgomery counties) from 5 months one year prior.  However, anecdotal and other evidence suggest that more people are becoming comfortable with the idea of selling their current residence.

Prices have risen over time, helping pull more families out of underwater territory.  With the Dow jones and other financial market indicators recently hitting all-time highs, more people have begun to retire.  This will help produce a vibrant spring selling season as buyers, anxious to lock in lower interest rates, encounter sellers who as last feel comfortable enough to transact.
